Deployment technicians are the entry-level position at Active Packet. Deployment technicians assist the team in all aspects of the physical layer installation while learning skillsets to become Deployment specialists. Duties include; low voltage cabling, deploying various types of equipment, inventory management, learning to read and create documentation.
Preferred Skills
-General knowledge of commercial construction and basic computer network knowledge.

Deployment Specialists are individuals with the capabilites to complete the more challanging physical layer sites and well as fiber splice and create/follow various network diagrams. Deployment Specialists can troubleshoot all forms of media and help Engineers successfully deploy networks.
Preferred Skills
-Proven ability to identify cable paths, as well as complete and terminate all forms of cabling
-Ability to identify different types of fiber and fiber splice in all conditions
-Ability to deploy as well as trouble shoot equipment with the assistance of an Engineer
-Ability to learn minor engineering tasks, such as completing firmware upgrades

Deployment Engineers are individuals fully capable of deploying networks and leading teams on small to mid-sized sites. Deployment Engineers should have a full understanding of IPs and networking concepts as well as VLANs. Deployment Engineers are also well versed in networking terminology and fully able to read and create technical documents. Deployment Engineers also have a firm understanding and ability to troubleshoot and complete all physical layer needs of the network.

Solutions Engineers are individuals fully capable of deploying networks of all sizes. Solutions Engineers have a superior understand of all network fundementals and can deploy and troubleshoot large scale networks as well as networks with high levels of complexities. Solution Engineers are also individuals with great leadership skills and can successfully lead large jobsites with mutliple layers of deployment happening at once.

-Proven ability to complete network deployments of all sizes and complexities
-Ability to create timelines and identify issues affecting jobsite timelines
-Ability to create configurations for all major brands
Requirements

Solution Architects specialize in network design/solutions and work with the customer to develop network designs that meet the needs of the customer as well as adhere to any brand standards. This is a fast-paced position that requires a motivated and detail orientated individual.
Preferred Skills:
-An understanding of commercial infrastructure and computer networks
-Identify existing cabling and identify areas that do not meet standards.
-Complete Wi-Fi signal surveying and propose topologies that are sound in design and meet all standards.
-Document current network conditions accurately and propose solutions to bring network up to modern standards.
-Work independently or as a team to complete projects within a set time-frame.
-Complete daily reporting on time and accurately.
Existing WiFi surveying experience with Ekahau is highly preferred.
